The story Behind the Picture

For awhile now this has been one of my favorite photographs. This photo was taken by Thomas P. Peschak of the African Coast. In fairly shallow water, the guy turns around and sees this massive animal/predator following his tiny craft through miles of ocean.

Now try this: look at this picture..... Think about being in that kayak.

I'm not sure about the rest of you; but i would be pretty freaked out. I'm a great studier of sharks; they fascinate me to no end. Yet to have something that gigantic following my small transportation through its element sets every hair in my head to a nervous attention. Its surreal.... The shark is a Great White. That species has attacked humans and is feared by all for its reputation. Getting in the water with one ( without any form of protection) would be considered suicide.
Then there is this picture. He is actually in the water with something so giant that if it wanted to could swallow him whole. But in this like the other picture the truth is in the details. That shark is a whale shark. though Giant in size, the whale shark eats very small food. So this man may have a story to tell for years, he was in no real danger.

For some sharks in any form are frightening. Doesn't matter if they are dangerous or not, they are sharks and sharks are bad. But just like almost everything in life, knowing the story or details makes all the difference....

Place I want to Go!!!

Could you imagine sitting at one of these tables? I would feel bad for the people with me and even for the servers trying to take my order. I wouldn't notice. My eyes would be permanently faced outside. I could see myself saying fish and the server would run off thinking that was my order. Could you imagine eating fish there. Sure its fresh but their cousin is probably swimming, traumatized outside the window....... better hope hes not good friends with a marlin or a swordfish....

I don' think i could spend the night here. For one I would be up all night staring out the window. And for two I would be staring out the window wondering what was staring back through the darkness and what was swimming menacingly just outside of view. Then if i did fall asleep.... well glass room under ocean pressure,,,,, you can figure out what I would be dreaming of. But if they gave day passes to the rooms, I WOULD SO SIGN UP!!! Well if i had the money..... the problems of the broke.
I think these hotels are amazing. The genius behind the idea of building this may not be publicly recognized quite yet for this but to him i give the title, " Imaginative genius that is putting his ideas into being" Congrats to him and to the many who will one day flock to this new wonder.

Day 1 thinking Cap time

What do you see?Honestly wish i could get people to comment and tell me their thoughts. till then here's mine. I see a thinking spot. I see a place where people could go and watch their thoughts roll out to sea. All there problems and stresses released as they breathe in the moist salt that slaps the sense into your face.
I see a place where children gather on sunny days. They hop from rock to rock; squealing as the cold water pants at their toes. They giggle and try to race the tide in.

I see an older couple standing on the rocks hand in hand. Their bodies worn with there age but thier love stronger then ever as they gaze to the horizon and the future, hands clasped tightly.

I see a young man and and a young woman, laughing. She is teasing him from far back on the back stones. He is flirting with the waves to get a chance to show off for her. In the end he gets soaked and she hands him a towel while chuckling.

I see a young woman staring at her feet. She is afraid of the water. Yet in this instance the the melody of the sea lifts her head and teases her hair. She breaths it in and her fear begins to leave her.....
A Wise friend told me once, that when you blog about something you love or care about what you blog about: then,,, and only then will you take the time each day to blog. Well to that friend,,, we will see. I believe that this will go well. Because the pictures I post will be amazing works of artistic voice? Maybe But I think this blog with reach to the minds of the people that see it.
I have been told i have a very active imagination.. to me that seems like a slight understatement. As my father has proclaimed on of my down days, I can see a story in almost anything. I will be walking down the street and everything around me has about 4 stories attached to it. He chuckled at that good naturally  but in started the wheels turning in my head. How many other people do that? And for those who don't have you ever thought you might focus on everything else too much? STOP AND SEE THE ROSES!!! ( slight paraphrase from the original saying. We miss so much about our surroundings and things that could have led to a story or a bit of encouragement in a busy life. So that is my goal. To see more in the pictures i post to the life that pasts around me. I challenge you, dear person who is glancing over this.... stop for a second.... look around you and wonder...
